SCDOT to temporarily close US 1 bridge over CSX Railroad in Kershaw County for repairs

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SCDOT will temporarily close and detour the US 1 (Main Street) bridge over the CSX Railroad in the town of Elgin in Kershaw County for repairs, said officials.

SCDOT said the repairs and closure will begin June 2, and is expected to last a week.

A detour route will be put in place using Church Street, Smyrna Road, Goff Lane and Chestnut Road.

Drivers are asked to slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
