SCDMV to close Blythewood location

The closure will take effect on July 3rd.

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the SC Department of Motor Vehicles say they are closing the customer service location in Blythewood.

The closure will take effect on July 3rd.

Officials say the reason for the closure is reduced parking availability due to the recent sale of several buildings on the Wilson Blvd. campus.

Officials say SCDMV headquarters and the SC Dept. of Public Safety will remain at the facility.

A SCDMV spokesperson says customers in the northeast Richland Co. should visit the location at 228 O’Neil Court in Columbia or 1161 Kincaid Bridge Rd. in Winnsboro for service.

The last day of customer service at the Blythewood branch office is Thursday, July 3.
