SLED investigating Calhoun County officer involved shooting
CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Calhoun County.
Deputies say on May 30, they responded to a call about a suspicious person and found a man lying on the side of the road who matched the description.
As the deputy approached, the armed man shot at the deputy and ran away. The shot hit the deputy’s patrol vehicle, and the deputy was not injured.
Authorities say after a K9 located the man, the K9 and the suspect were both shot. They were both treated for their injuries.
This incident is the twenty-third officer involved shooting in South Carolina this year.
