RCSD: Man arrested after bystander shot while walking on Parklane Road

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies have arrested a man for a shooting that happened on  June 7.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded in the 100 block of O’neil Court for reports of a shooting just before 8 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they say they spoke to a witness who confirmed there were gunshots at the 7200 block of Parklane Road.

Deputies say the victim had sustained a grazing gunshot wound to the torso.

Detectives later determined the victim was actually an innocent bystander walking through the area when authorities say Anthony Alexander targeted him for unknown reasons.

Alexander is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
