Phone users turn off news alerts
(CNN)– How glued to your phone are you for news alerts?
Apparently, many of us are keeping those at a distance.
A new global survey was done by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism.
79% of people said they don’t get any news alerts during a typical week.
And 43% of respondents said they actively disabled such notifications.
The reason the report finds is that phone users get too many or find them not useful.
Researchers found that the prevalence of news alerts has increased significantly over the past decade in many countries.
