(WOLO) – A drug designed to kill animals was found in canned dog food causing the latest recall.
JM Smucker announced the recall this week.
Four brands are being recalled after the FDA found low levels of the drug pentobarbital were detected in cans of dog food.
The drug is most commonly used as a sedative, anesthetic or to euthanize animals.
The voluntary recall includes shipments of Gravy Train, Kibbles ‘n Bits, Ol’ Roy and Skippy canned dog food.
