Motorcyclist killed in collision on Broad St. in Sumter Co.

 

 

SUMTER CO., S.C. (WOLO) – South Carolina Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist was killed in a collision Thursday afternoon.

It happened at approximately 3:25 p.m. at US-76/Broad Street at Loring Mill Road.

According to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, a 2024 Yamaha motorcycle struck a 2020 Ford SUV with four people inside that tried to cross traffic.

The motorcyclist died from their injuries.

Out of the four occupants in the SUV, two were injured and taken to the hospital.

The Sumter County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the victim as of yet.

Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.
