2 teens arrested after 1 found with firearm at elementary school, officers say

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Officers say two teens have been arrested after CPD officers found them with firearms.

CPD says a K9 team found a 17-year-old hiding in a bush, and carrying a handgun while at Lewis Greenview Elementary on Sunday, July 6.

Then 19-year-old Jamil Elam was arrested in a traffic stop with an assault rifle, and handgun.

The teens are accused of bringing the weapons to the school, where a fight was planned.

The 17-year-old was taken to the SC Dept. of Juvenile Justice.
