SLED investigating death of Lexington County Detention Center inmate

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SLED is investigating the death of a Lexington County Detention Center inmate.

According to the Lexington County Coroner, the inmate was identified as 25-year-old Morgan Daniel Kannaday of Gaston.

Sheriff Jay Koon says state troopers arrested Kannaday on June 29 on a traffic, DUI, and drug charge.

Koon says Kannady had been at the jail since being booked, and was taken to Lexington Medical Center Friday morning.
