Orangeburg firefighters control fires at 5 houses over the weekend

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg firefighters say they responded to five house fires over the weekend.

It ranged from minor incidents to fully involved structure fires.

Firefighters say they successfully rescued dogs from two separate incidents.

Safely reuniting them with their families or ensuring they received veterinary care.

No injuries were reported.

Officials are urging people to check their smoke alarms and practice fire escape plans.
