SC Dept. Consumer Affairs: Biggest Scams Report
Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs has just released a new report showing the top scams in 2017.
According to the the latest numbers, more than 14 hundred scams were reported 49 percent of them were imposter scams. Officials say 11 percent were from sweepstakes and and another 9 percent made up fake debt collections scams.
Spokesman for the SCDCA, Juliana Harris says these scams cost a loss of more than 1 million dollars.
