Tornado watch, rip current warnings posted for SC
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — As tropical systems move past South Carolina, weather watches and warnings have been posted in portions of the state.
A tornado watch is in effect for nine counties in the northeastern corner of the state through early afternoon Tuesday because the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee.
Hurricane Katia is projected to move past the state well out at sea, but swimmers are being warned about the possibility of rip currents along the coast through Thursday.
Anyone caught in a rip current should swim parallel to the shore until they make it out of the current. Trying to swim against a rip current will just take a swimmer farther out.
