Deputies: Man arrested for attempted kidnapping, assault
Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies with the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Department say a man is in custody for trying to kidnap a woman Saturday morning.
Investigators say around 6:30 that morning Timothy Ulness hit a woman riding a bicycle with his car on Miles Rd.
Deputies say he then turned around, and began punching the woman in the face and put her in a choke hold and tried to drag her into his car.
According to deputies the woman fought back and was able to break free and Ulness drove off.
The woman was taken to the hospital and treated for cuts, bruises, and a broken finger.
Deputies say she was able to describe the suspect and his car.
According to investigators Ulness was arrested Monday and charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and Kidnapping.
He was released on a $50,000 bond and given an ankle monitor Tuesday.
