Deputies: Search for suspect, missing teen comes to tragic end
Orangeburg, S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies with the Orangeburg Co. Sheriff’s Office say the search for a man wanted for attempted murder has ended.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says following nearly two hours of negotiations at a home on Coburg Lane it was discovered that Codie Martinez had taken his own life.
A missing woman, Mary Dilling, 19, was found inside the home safe.
Deputies say Martinez was wanted in connection with a July 31st shooting that left one man injured.
“This is never how you want situations like these to end, never,” the sheriff said. “He had family, loved ones, friends. Please say a prayer for all involved.”
