OCSO: Man dead, missing woman found safe

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County deputies say a man wanted for attempted murder took his own life after hours of negotiations on Wednesday.

20-year-old Codie Martinez was wanted for a shooting on July 31 that injured one man.

Deputies say they went to a Coburg Lane home on Wednesday where Martinez was inside.

After hours of negotiations.,they found him dead from a self-inflicted injury, says the sheriff’s office.

A missing woman, identified as 19-year-old Mary Dilling was found safely outside of the home.

This incident remains under investigation.
