Sumter PD: 2 wanted, 1 in custody on charges for robbing a man
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Two people are wanted and a third person is in custody in connection with a planned armed robbery of a man who was visiting one of the people, according to police.
Officers say the incident happened on May 25, when a 42-year-old man said he was at the home of one of the suspects when he was approached by two armed masked men.
Both masked men are accused of attacking the victim before they demanded him to hand over his phone and then forced him to make a financial transaction using an app-based platform.
Once the suspects left, the victim drove himself to a local hospital where police were notified.
Investigators say Niquan Elek Dingle, 25, of Silver Street, and Elexius Shonte Brockington, 29, of Rast Street are identified as suspects and are wanted on armed robbery and conspiracy charges.
A third suspect identified as Jakeem Jamal Samuel, 21, of Neal Street, is in custody on unrelated charges in another jurisdiction, according to Sumter PD.
Police are asking for information that can help find Dingle and Brockington.
