Spirit Airlines may go out of business

(CNN)– Spirit Airlines is warning shareholders it may not survive, if it can’t come up with enough cash to pay its upcoming debt obligations.

That’s according to a filing with the U.S. securities and exchange commission.

The Florida-based carrier just got out of bankruptcy in March.

Spirit said its credit-card processor has asked the carrier to set aside more funds as collateral, or risk having its contract not renewed.

That contract expires at the end of the year.
