Orangeburg County deputies searching for woman accused of pulling gun on store workers

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced investigators are seeking the public’s help identifying a woman accused of pulling a gun on local store workers.

Sheriff Ravenell says around 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, a female entered the Tobacco & Vape shop located in the Walmart mall area on North Road.

Employees of the business say the woman pointed a handgun at them after she exited the business and retrieved it from a vehicle.

“Apparently, she got angry at the store employees and decided to retrieve a firearm,” the sheriff says.

Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators learned the woman had become irate during a dispute with employees about a product.

“Fortunately, no one was injured in this senseless incident,” continues the sheriff.

Anyone with information on the woman’s identity is urged to call the Orangeburg County Communications Center at 803.534.3550.
