Patients can get Ozempic for 1/2 price

(CNN)– Patients in the U.S. can now get Ozempic for half the price, if they pay in cash.

Novo Nordisk, the maker of the diabetes drug announced Monday, Aug. 19, that U.S. patients can now get a month’s supply for just under $500.

It typically carries a list price of around a $1,000 a month.

That deal is for those who pay for medications on their own and don’t go through insurance.

The move comes as President Trump is pressuring drugmakers to lower drug costs.
