Local Living: Sistercare’s toiletry drive, Mayor’s Walk Against Domestic Violence, Boat rally against Breast Cancer, Soda City Con

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you can donate to the City of Columbia and Sistercare’s toiletry drive to help victims of domestic violence.

They are looking for donations like facial wipes and liquid hand soap.

You can donate through October 1st.

You can also register for the Mayor’s 19th annual Walk Against Domestic Violence.

It starts Saturday, October 25 at 9 a.m. at Page Ellington Park on Gregg Street.

Registration is $5, and all money collected will be donated to Sistercare.

 

The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce says the inaugural boat rally against Breast Cancer is this Saturday, Aug. 23.

It starts at 10 a.m. at Martin’s Landing with a silent auction, a boat decorating contest, and more.

All proceeds go towards the Pledge the Pink Foundation which supports under and uninsured women fighting Breast Cancer.

Registration costs range from $50 to $100 dollars.

 

Soda City Comic Con returns to the Midlands this weekend.

With over 150 artists, vendors, guests, and cosplayers, there’s something for every member of your family.

It takes place Saturday, August 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, August, 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
