Spurrier Thinks Shaw Will ‘Wow’ At Combine

(WOLO) — South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier spoke to the NFL Network Wednesday morning and gushed about his former quarterback Connor Shaw. “Connor is just a winner. He’s a lot like Russell Wilson, he takes care of the ball, he doesn’t do stupid stuff, he doesn’t take careless sacks, he doesn’t throw it away and he really is an excellent passer. Anytime you see a guy who can run as good as Connor you don’t think he’s a good passer,” said Spurrier. Spurrier said he thinks Shaw will surprise a lot of people at the 2014 NFL Combine. “I think he’s going to wow them at the combine this week, I hope he’s a mid-round pick, maybe better,” said Spurrier.
