2 people placed in custody after Labor Day shooting, officers say

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Two people were placed in custody Tuesday morning after a domestic-related shooting that injured a man on Monday night on Broad Street, say police.

Sumter Police officers say the two people and a 28-year-old victim were arguing outside of a vehicle parked in the wood line in the 1300 block of Broad Street behind several businesses before 7:30 p.m. when the shooting happened.

Additionally, officers say the suspects then sped away from the area.

The victim was flown to a Columbia area hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Blake B. Drown, 25, of Tryon Street, and Summer Danielle Holliday, 26, also of Tryon Street, were located in the Mooneyham Road area and placed in custody by Sumter PD and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the shooting.

Drown is charged with attempted murder and faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Holliday is charged with accessory after the fact. Both were booked at the county detention center.

Sumter Police Department says the investigation is continuing.
