Former USC Basketball star charged after assaulting woman who was holding a child, deputies say

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leon Lott says a man has been arrested for a domestic violence incident that occurred last month.
On August 12, around 8:30 p.m., RCSD deputies responded to a domestic violence report in the 200 block of Glenn Village Circle.
The victim explained to deputies that Sindarius Thornwell assaulted her while she was holding their young child following a verbal dispute.
She told deputies that while she was holding their child, Thornwell threw a cup of water at her and hit her in the back of the head.
Thornwell denied hitting the victim but admitted to deputies that he threw a cup of water at her.
Investigators interviewed the victim and were able to corroborate the victim’s statement with additional evidence.
Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigators obtained warrants for Thornwell’s arrest.
On Tuesday, September 2, he was arrested and charged with domestic violence 2nd degree and unlawful conduct towards a child.
