Newberry County deputy negative after exposure to rabid coyote
NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials say a Newberry County deputy tested negative for rabies after being exposed to a potentially rabid coyote.
Deputies say the animal was shot by a resident in the Beth Eden area after it exhibited unusual behavior on Friday afternoon, August.
Sheriff Lee Foster says the deputy became involved in the incident after other agencies declined to help the homeowner.
