Disney to pay $10 million fine for kids data collection
(CNN)– Disney will pay a $10 million fine to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The agency says Disney mislabeled some Youtube videos, failing to mark them as ‘made for kids.’
That allowed for the collection of personal data from children under 13 with their data later used for targeted advertising.
Under the settlement, Disney said it will launch a video-review program to ensure proper labeling going forward.
