Industries losing jobs due to tariffs

(CNN)– Some of the industries most exposed to tariffs are losing jobs.

Job growth in the manufacturing, construction, and transportation sectors turned negative shortly after President Trump’s trade war started in the Spring.

That’s according to a new analysis of employment data.

The U.S. manufacturing industry has 78,000 fewer jobs than it did a year ago, and manufacturing employment has declined four months in a row, according to the August jobs report released last Friday.
