Man sentenced for domestic assault that left victim partially paralyzed

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office say a Lexington Co. man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature.

A spokesperson says Michael Harvey pleaded guilty on September 4th.

According to authorities, on August 26, 2024, Harvey punched, kicked, and beat his victim causing them to develop a stroke.

Officials say the beating was so severe it resulted in the partial amputation of four fingers and the paralyzation of their right arm.

Harvey has been transferred will begin serving his sentence at the South Carolina Department of Corrections
immediately.
