Richland County Coroner identifies child killed during early Wednesday morning hit-and-run; driver arrested
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Highway Patrol says a child was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run collision on Bluff Road.
The collision happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, near the intersection with Blackberry Road.
Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was walking across Bluff Road when they were hit by a 2008 Lexus sedan.
Richland County Coroner’s Office identified the person as Travis Kelley, 11, of Gadsden who died at the scene from his injuries.
Troopers say James Hargrave, 55, of Gadsden, was later arrested and charged for leaving the scene with death.
He’s being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
