Roundabout in Lexington to replace 4-way stop at Old Wire Road, US 21
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Department of Transportation will conduct a traffic shift at Old Wire Road and US 21 in Lexington County from a 4-way stop to a roundabout configuration beginning Monday.
SCDOT says drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the new roundabout as the traffic shift begins on Monday, October 13.
Signs have been placed in the area alerting drivers to the change.
Once the change has been implemented, the temporary pavement in the center of the roundabout will be removed so crews can complete the construction of the center island, says SCDOT.
Following the construction of the island, the final pavement and pavement markings will be placed.
Construction is expected to be finished in Spring of 2026.
