Lexington County coroner identifies person who died after single-vehicle collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a single-vehicle accident, said the coroner’s office.

The accident happened near the 42 mile-marker of I-20 westbound in the Leesville area of Lexington County on Monday, October 20, around 6:12 a.m.

According to Coroner Fisher, George Woodrow Stoudemire III, 55, of Lexington, was traveling westbound on I-20 when he hit a deer, went off the left side of the roadway, and hit a tree.

Stoudemire was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
