Treat-or-Treat safety tips

CAYCE, S.C. (WOLO)– Halloween is finally here, and the Cayce Police Department has some tips to keep your trick-or-treaters safe.

Officials say children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

You should also establish a route and a return time if you let your child go alone, and make sure they stay in groups and in well-lit areas.

Also, inspect the candy first, and avoid those that appear to have been tampered with or opened.

Drivers should take extra precautions and to exit and enter driveways, walkways and crosswalks slowly.
