Jetblue lands after altitude drop

(CNN)– The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating a “flight control issue” after a Jetblue flight had to make an emergency landing Thursday, October 30.

The airline says flight 1230 was heading to New Jersey from Cancun when the plane “experienced a drop in altitude.”

Data from “flight radar 24” says the plane fell roughly 100-feet within seven seconds.

It was then diverted to Tampa International Airport to land where medical personnel was on hand.

More than a dozen people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

No word yet on the cause of the descent.
