Roblox launches Ai age verfication

(CNN)– Online gaming platform Roblox is introducing new age verification features amid lawsuits and claims that it endangers children.

Users who want to chat will soon have to provide a government ID or let an artificial intelligence age estimation tool photograph their face.

A string of lawsuits and claims allege the platform has enabled sexual predators to connect with and abuse children.

Roblox already has some measures in place meant to protect young users, but executives say the update is expected to greatly increase the number of users required to verify their age.
