Deputies say burglary suspect generated memes about law enforcement pursuit

Orangeburg Co., S.C. (WOLO)–Orangeburg Co. deputies say a man who made several memes detailing his efforts to allude law enforcement is in custody.

“I saw this one and that one, and the one mentioning ‘Ravenell’ chasing (Iquan) Collier with a helicopter,” the sheriff said. “They need to change that meme now with the tune ‘what you gonna do when they come for you.’”

Investigators say Iquan Collier, 24, of Santee was arrested Thursday and is charged with second degree burglary.

According to deputies Collier broke into the Elloree Country Store on October 21st stealing cash and cigarettes and then he and another suspect broke into the Oak Ridge Food Store on Five Chop Rd.

In one meme, an AI-creator has Collier as stating, “…pulling up behind me again? You won’t catch me this time…”

“Clever, funny. But now we need one for catching him,” the Orangeburg Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said.
