Inflation eating more of your paycheck
(CNN)– Inflation is eating up more of Americans’ paychecks, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data released Friday, Nov. 21.
Inflation-adjusted hourly earnings for all U.S. employees were flat for the second straight month in September.
The annual rate of gain held at .8%.
That matches the slowest yearly pace since mid-2024.
Inflation-adjusted pay gains known as Real Pay were even weaker for blue-collar and service industry workers.
For production and non-supervisory employees, real average hourly earnings fell .1% from August.
