Irmo Police asking for donations for annual Shop with a Cop
IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)–Irmo Police Department is asking for donations for their annual Shop with a Cop event.
Shop with a Cop is an annual event that brings Irmo law enforcement and local families together for an afternoon of Christmas cheer.
Selected families from the Irmo area are paired together with IPD officers for a supervised shopping trip at the Walmart in Irmo.
Each family is given a budget, made possible through community donations, to purchase food, toys, clothing, and essential items, according to the police dept.
“Shop with a Cop is one of the most meaningful events of the year for our officers,” states Bobby Dale, Chief of Police for the Irmo Police Department.
The families that have been selected for the 2025 Shop with a Cop, will shop on December 11 and December 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 pm.
“It’s not just about gifts. It’s about giving kids a joyful experience and showing them that their community cares deeply about them,” continues Chief Dale.
