Shoppers spent over $11 billion online for Black Friday
(CNN)– There’s a sense of shrink-flation hovering over this holiday season.
U.S. consumers are paying more, but getting less, according to Salesforce.
Analysts there say online shopping in the U.S. rose by 3% on Black Friday, but that was caused in part by a 7% hike in prices.
Order volume which tallies how much was purchased in a certain amount of time fell 1% compared to Black Friday 2024.
Salesforce says historic tariff increases are a large factor in pricier products.
Consumers are also buying more expensive items including luxury and home goods.
