SLED releases annual Crime in South Carolina report

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) released its annual Crime in South Carolina’ report today.

Officials say this year’s report found that violent crime in South Carolina decreased by 8.4% between 2023 and 2024.

According to SLED, it is the fourth consecutive year of a decline in violent crime and the lowest since 1995.

Property crimes like burglary and motor vehicle theft also declined in the past year.
