Columbia Police officers investigating death after body found inside home, man arrested

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police officers are investigating a death after a body was found inside a home, say police.

Officers say a female body was found deceased inside a home in the 2300 block of Byrnes Drive shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10.

A male was detained for questioning at the scene.

Investigators say 42-year-old Eleazar Del Valle Jeronimo has been arrested in connection with the case.

Jeronimo will be charged with voluntary manslaughter, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
