SLED: Former behavioral health facility employee charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) says a former employee at a behavioral health facility is charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult.

Agents say, on June 26, Shawn Fitzhugh was working as a custody officer for Wellpath Recovery Solutions when he picked up a victim and threw them on the floor causing an injury.

Investigators say the allegations were corroborated through interviews, surveillance video, and information provided to SLED.
