8 displaced after early morning triplex fire

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– CRFD’s 1st shift crews controlled a Tuesday early morning heavy fire, says the fire dept.
1st shift crews found heavy fire coming from the front window of a triplex on Duke Avenue when they responded to a call there early Tuesday morning, Dec. 23.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 4:15 a.m., and entered the triplex to find fire throughout one apartment with extreme heat and little visibility inside the unit.
Crews assisted one person with getting out and that person had to be treated for injuries, according to Columbia-Richland Fire Dept.
The fire was extinguished and eight people in total were left displaced.
There were no other injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
