72-year-old man arrested in connection with secretly photographing victims

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leon Lott said a 72-year-old man was arrested in connection with secretly photographing victims.

Michael Liggett is accused of secretly photographing victims without their knowledge.

On December 25, 2025, deputies at RCSD Headquarters received a telephone report from one of Liggett’s family members that said explicit photos had been found on Liggett’s cellphone.

The person also stated to law enforcement that they found a hidden camera inside Liggett’s home in Richland County.

RCSD investigators obtained a search warrant for Liggett’s home and located a second hidden camera and seized additional potential evidence.

Liggett was taken into custody Thursday, January 8, 2026, and charged with 2 counts of aggravated voyeurism.

He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
