Former SC Rep. RJ May to be sentenced
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Former South Carolina Representative RJ May will be sentenced this Wednesday, Jan. 14 in federal court after pleading guilty to five counts of distributing child sexual abuse material.
The federal government is recommending 20 years in prison plus lifetime supervision after his release along with a restitution payment of $73,000 to his victims.
Prosecutors also pointing out that May advocated for harsher punishments for pedophiles while he was in office.
Authorities say May sent hundreds of videos to pedophiles across 18 states and 6 countries over the Kik app while using the screen name: JoeBiden69.
