Congresswoman Mace confirms federal prosecutors seeking 21-month prison sentence for alleged bomb threat

 

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Tuesday, Jan. 20, Congresswoman Nancy Mace confirmed federal prosecutors are seeking a 21-month prison sentence for an alleged bomb threat.

According to Mace’s office, the accused transmitted multiple threats via text message and email, explicitly threatening to blow up Mace’s congressional office and murder the congresswoman.

The FBI swiftly identified and located the individual, executing a search warrant at their residence.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to making the threats.

Representative Mace and her employees will prepare victim impact statements for the trial.
