SLED investigating on-campus death at University of South Carolina, coroner identifies person

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – SLED says its investigating an on-campus death at the University of South Carolina Tuesday.

According to investigators, the USC Police Department requested SLED to look into this case.

Richland Co. Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the person as 18-year-old Eliana M. Peterson of Columbia.

“We will continue working with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to fully investigate this death. Our thoughts and prayers are with the USC community.” Coroner Rutherford states.
