SNAP settles youth safety lawsuit
(CNN)– SNAP, the parent company of Snapchat has agreed to settle a social media addiction lawsuit.
A 19-year-old brought the lawsuit, claiming the company’s app has addictive features that harmed her mental health.
The lawsuit also names TikTok, Meta, and Youtube.
But no settlements with those companies were announced which means the trial will go forward next week in Los Angeles.
The companies deny any scientific link between social media use and addiction.
Thousands of lawsuits with similar claims have been filed against the four companies.
