First-time jobless claims stay low

(CNN)– There’s some good news for the economy.

First time unemployment benefit applications from last week remained near two-year lows.

The Bureau of Labor statistics pegs them at around 200,000.

That’s up 1,000 from the previous week.

But, it still keeps the four-week average the lowest in two years.

Continuing claims continue to hover around four year highs.
