Amazon closes Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go locations

(CNN)– Amazon has announced the closures of its branded brick-and-mortar grocery stores.

About 70 Amazon Fresh” and Amazon Go locations in the U.S. will close.

In a blog post, the company said the customer experience wasn’t unique enough to be profitable on a large scale.

Some of the locations will be converted into Whole Foods Markets.

Meanwhile, Amazon said it’s “testing new physical store experiences”, including a store-within-a-store concept in Illinois that combines Amazon Grocery and Whole Foods Market.
