Man arrested on multiple charges after chase with Sumter Co. deputies

 

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County deputies have arrested a suspect after leading them on a chase.

Wednesday, Jan. 28, a deputy saw a car driving on Myrtle Beach Highway with an illegal window tint.

When the deputy activated their blue lights the car accelerated their speed.

The car finally came to a stop at South Harvin Street and the occupants got out and ran away.

The driver, 21-year-old Chavious Wells was taken into custody.

He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a prescription medication without a prescription.

He was also issued a warrant for several other charges including attempted murder.
