Spending power grew in 9 states

(CNN)– Most Americans have lost spending power in the past five years.

That’s not news to most people.

But here’s the interesting thing, nationally pay rose by 18% between 2020 and 2024 while inflation went up 21%.

But, where you live can significantly impact things.

My-Perfect-Resume drilled down Bureau of Labor Statistics data to identify the 9 states where purchasing power actually grew.

It went up 3.1% in Idaho, 2.6% in Florida, and 2.3% in Washington.

Montana, Wyoming, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Maine also saw net positives.
